Dentistry2U exists because the dental care available to people in their own homes was limited, and a long way from what they deserved.
Eight bases, one rule: the patient does not travel.
If the patient cannot reasonably get to the clinic, the clinic should go to the patient — with the same equipment and the same standards, not a stripped-down version of them. That's the whole idea.
We are a mobile and domiciliary dental service. Our dentists and dental nurses spend their working week in other people's homes, in nursing and residential homes, in supported-living and disability settings, and at hospital bedsides, anywhere in Ireland. They carry a portable dental unit, a handheld digital X-ray and an intraoral scanner, and they treat on the day.
Who we look after
Older people, above all. Residents of nursing homes, where it is common to find that four in ten have not seen a dentist in five years. People living with dementia, for whom a clinic is frightening and a familiar room is not. Wheelchair users and people who are bed-bound. People recovering from a stroke, surgery or a long illness. And people whose anxiety has kept them away from dentistry for decades, who find that being at home changes everything.
How we work
Every clinic day is planned by our central office before a dentist sets out: medical histories requested and reviewed, consent gathered, Medical Card and PRSI eligibility checked, residents scheduled, routes planned. By the time the team walks in, the day is already built — which is why it runs to time and why the paperwork the home needs exists afterwards.
Our dentures are designed and made in our own Irish dental laboratory. A reline can often be done on the spot, and a new set comes back in days rather than weeks.
Standards
Every dentist is registered with the Dental Council of Ireland and fully insured. Every clinician who enters a home is Garda-vetted. Infection control follows the same standard as a surgery — sealed sterilised kits opened in front of the patient — and we do not attempt at home what belongs in a hospital.
The bases
The eight clinics listed on the contact page are where our dentists, our laboratory and our equipment are based, and where the few treatments that need a fixed chair — implants, orthodontics, root canal work, surgical extractions — are carried out. Patients do not attend them for a home visit. The visit comes to you, in all 32 counties.
