Cookie policy

One analytics cookie, set only after you agree, and how to change your mind.

Last updated: 7 September 2026.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all; others measure how the site is used, or support features like our online chat.

Under the ePrivacy Regulations 2011 and GDPR, we may only set non-essential cookies after you have consented. That is what the banner on your first visit is for. Saying no does not stop you using any part of this site.

What we set

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
Consent record (browser storage) dentistry2u.ie Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked again Until you clear it
Chat session Fiacail.ie Keeps your conversation with Clara, our online receptionist, in one thread Session
_ga, _ga_* Google Analytics 4 — only after you agree Counts visits and shows which pages are read, in aggregate, with IP addresses anonymised 14 months

Nothing from Google is loaded until you choose "That's fine" on the banner. If you choose "No thanks", no analytics cookie is ever set.

Changing your mind

Clear this site's data in your browser settings and you will be asked again on your next visit. You can also email us and we will confirm that no analytics data is tied to you — it never is; it is aggregate only.

Chat and calls

Clara, our online receptionist, is operated for us by Fiacail.ie. Anything you type into the chat is processed to answer your question and, if you ask for a visit, to create an enquiry record. It is handled under our privacy policy and is not used for advertising.
