Mobile dentist in Dublin

Five of our eight bases are in Dublin, so this is where a visit can happen soonest — from Balbriggan to Bray and everywhere between.

Teams set out from Kimmage, Artane, Balbriggan, Castleknock and Dublin 2.

Dublin is where Dentistry2U began and where most of our nursing home clinic days happen. With bases in Kimmage, Artane, Balbriggan, Castleknock and Dublin 2, a team is rarely more than half an hour from any address in the city or county, which is why urgent visits in Dublin are usually the quickest we do.

We visit private homes, nursing and residential homes, supported-living and disability settings, and hospitals across the city and county. The laboratory that makes our dentures is here too, which is why a Dublin reline is often done on the day and a new set is back within days.

Where in Dublin we visit

Everywhere. The towns below are the ones we are asked about most; if yours is not listed, we still come.

  • Dublin city — all postal districts, north and south
  • Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush, Lusk, Donabate, Swords and Malahide
  • Howth, Sutton, Baldoyle, Raheny, Artane, Coolock and Clontarf
  • Blanchardstown, Castleknock, Lucan, Clondalkin and Tallaght
  • Rathfarnham, Templeogue, Terenure, Kimmage, Crumlin and Walkinstown
  • Dún Laoghaire, Blackrock, Stillorgan, Dundrum, Sandyford and Cabinteely
  • Bray, Greystones and north Wicklow, from the Kimmage base

What we do on a visit in Dublin

  • Examinations — a full check of teeth, gums and soft tissues, with an oral cancer screening every time
  • Dentures — relines and repairs often on the spot; new sets scanned at home and made in our own Irish laboratory
  • Fillings and extractions — done under local anaesthetic with the portable unit
  • Pain and emergencies — toothache, swelling, a broken tooth or denture, seen within days
  • Nursing home clinic days — a whole home seen in a day, DTSS claims handled

Questions from Dublin

If your question is not answered here, please give us a call — it is quicker than a form.

How quickly can you come to a house in Dublin?

Same working day for advice, always. For the visit, often within two or three days in Dublin — sooner for pain where the rota allows. Nursing home clinic days are planned a few weeks ahead.

Which base would come to us?

Whichever is nearest and has the team free. It does not change anything for you — the same equipment and the same standards come from every base.

Do you cover the Dublin hospitals?

Yes. We visit patients on wards and in rehabilitation units with the hospital's agreement, and we work with discharge teams where a patient is going home or into care.

What a visit costs

Cost depends on where the patient is, how many people we are seeing and what treatment turns out to be needed. We give you the likely range on the first phone call — nothing is booked until you have heard it — and a written quote with every cost on it before any treatment begins.

What changes the cost

  • Where the patient is, and how far the team travels to get there
  • How many people we are seeing on that visit — a care home with twelve residents is not a single house call
  • What the examination finds, and which treatment turns out to be needed
  • Whether the patient is covered by a Medical Card or PRSI, which we check before anyone is booked

Ways it is paid for

HSE Medical Card
Many treatments are covered under the Dental Treatment Services Scheme for eligible medical card holders. Call-out fees are not covered. We check eligibility before the appointment, not after.
PRSI
PRSI-covered patients, including the self-employed, are entitled to a free examination each year and a subsidised scale and polish. We check entitlement and claim it for you.
Tax relief
20% tax relief is available on non-routine dental treatment. We complete the Med 2 form for you.
Humm
The cost of higher-value treatment, such as a full set of dentures, can be spread in monthly instalments through Humm.
Credit Union
We work with St Canice's, Progressive (Balbriggan) and Capital (Sundrive) Credit Unions, and many families find a Credit Union loan the simplest route.
