Mobile dentist in Kilkenny
Our Friary Court base in Kilkenny city serves the county and the whole south-east — Carlow, Waterford, Wexford and south Tipperary set out from here.
The south-east team sets out from Friary Street.
Friary Court Dental in Kilkenny city is the base for everything south of Kildare. From it, a team reaches most of County Kilkenny within forty minutes and the neighbouring counties within the hour, which is why we plan south-east visits to see more than one patient on the day and pass the saving on.
Nursing home clinic days across Kilkenny, Carlow, Waterford and Wexford are a regular part of the rota; families arranging a single home visit are usually fitted around them, which keeps the travel cost down.

Questions from Kilkenny
If your question is not answered here, please give us a call — it is quicker than a form.
How far from Kilkenny do you travel?
The whole south-east, and further by arrangement. Cork and Kerry visits set out from Kilkenny and are planned to see several patients on the day.
Is there a wait for the south-east?
Advice is the same working day. The visit depends on the rota — typically within a week, sooner for pain. If it cannot wait we will say so and tell you what to do in the meantime.
Which Credit Union do you work with in Kilkenny?
St Canice's Credit Union in Kilkenny. Humm instalments are available anywhere.
What a visit costs
Cost depends on where the patient is, how many people we are seeing and what treatment turns out to be needed. We give you the likely range on the first phone call — nothing is booked until you have heard it — and a written quote with every cost on it before any treatment begins.
What changes the cost
- Where the patient is, and how far the team travels to get there
- How many people we are seeing on that visit — a care home with twelve residents is not a single house call
- What the examination finds, and which treatment turns out to be needed
- Whether the patient is covered by a Medical Card or PRSI, which we check before anyone is booked
Ways it is paid for
- HSE Medical Card
- Many treatments are covered under the Dental Treatment Services Scheme for eligible medical card holders. Call-out fees are not covered. We check eligibility before the appointment, not after.
- PRSI
- PRSI-covered patients, including the self-employed, are entitled to a free examination each year and a subsidised scale and polish. We check entitlement and claim it for you.
- Tax relief
- 20% tax relief is available on non-routine dental treatment. We complete the Med 2 form for you.
- Humm
- The cost of higher-value treatment, such as a full set of dentures, can be spread in monthly instalments through Humm.
- Credit Union
- We work with St Canice's, Progressive (Balbriggan) and Capital (Sundrive) Credit Unions, and many families find a Credit Union loan the simplest route.
